The sixth year of the Ironstone Chamber Music Festival will take place in the village of Horley, North Oxfordshire on the 8th, 9th & 10th September 2017.
We should love to see as many people as possible at this year’s Festival in 2017, so please come to St. Etheldredas Church to hear our concerts.
Our Artistic Directors, Lucy and Kate Gould, are both well known in the chamber music world as members of the Gould Piano Trio and the London Bridge Trio respectively. They have busy careers performing concerts in many parts of the world at festivals and on radio and also have made a wide ranging number of recordings.
It is one of the delights of this festival to be able to invite different musicians to perform alongside our artistic directors, expanding the repertoire to quartets, quintets and other various combinations, through which every festival becomes an exploration and an adventure!
The Festival is enjoying its growing affinity with our neighbours in Horley and has enjoyed putting on events in local churches as well as St Etheldreda’s. The opportunity for this small but beautiful village to experience music making with internationally renowned musicians is greatly valued. In previous years the festival expanded to the surrounding villages of Deddington and Kings Sutton and this last, 2016, we held a most successful Lunchtime Concert in another Ironstone Church-St. Peter’s in the nearby village of Hanwell, Oxfordshire. This year all the concerts will be in St Etheldreda’s Church, Horley.
